March 5

March 5

rush to the Ogoh-Ogoh cremation
Saturday, Nyipe day...

Ahhh, it is about 8 pm and all is quiet and serene here on our patio. It is a good thing that this iPad is " back-lit" so I can see what o am writing.
We are now in observance of Nyipee day, and all the lights are off and no sound other than the jankreek and the toke's can be heard; well, so now and then the Germans next door to us get a bit out of hand, but as a whole it is very quiet. It is almost eerie to see the sun go down and not a single light come on....a strange feeling indeed. I respect the people here for sticking to their beliefs and convictions, even though it seems that some of their religious laws are open to interpretation.
Sawas

For example, we were told by the manager Kerr that we would have access to the dining area all day, as long as we did not venture into the street a d as long as we would retreat to the bar area after 6pm.
Today she had the day off to spend with her husband and kids, and the "on duty" managers assistant insisted that we did not cross this imaginary line, somewhere next to the bar.
Fair enough we did not mind at all and spend a lot of time quietly floating in the pool.
We had a nice bowl of noodle soup for lunch, at the bar and sat there until we were harassed by some Germans who thought we were the entertainment committee.
We packed our bags and are ready to leave tomorrow onto the last 2 days of our adventure.
We will take a private car and driver to Sanur, way down south.
The trip should take about 3 hours and we should be going down the east side of the mountain range, when we went up here, we took the west side. We hope to see some different sights.
Bali is so beautiful, that I have downed it difficult to take pictures, I know that I cannot show, what my eyes did see. Still I took many and will share them with you all, as soon as I can organize them.
Ubud
For evening meal we has some sate ayam and nasi goreng...tasted like hotel food, because that is what it was.
Not much else to report, we are watching a soccer game from Java, and that is always fun..
I hope there will be a bit more to report tomorrow.
